The National Highways Logistics Management (NHLML) has awarded a contract worth Rs 199 crore to MS Infraengineers for construction of ropeway at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh
The work has been awarded for the development, operation, and maintenance of the ropeway between Ujjain Jn. Railway Station and Mahakaleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh, on the hybrid annuity mode (HAM). The project spans a total length of 1.76 km, covering three stations and will accommodate a capacity of 64,000 passenger trips per day, employing Monocable detachable technology
The proposed ropeway will help in movement especially during the peak pilgrimage season and reduce the travel time to seven minutes. The Union Minister had earlier stated that it will provide eco-friendly means of transportation while creating new employment opportunities
